Collaborating with a hospital in the Outer Banks of North Carolina with an opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to assist their team with short-term locum Hospitalist coverage.
Opportunity Highlights:
Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 2p-10p, specific dates
No call required
Daily Census: 17-21 total inpatients, 8-10 patients per APP, 9-13 admissions
Duties: Admissions, consults, co-management of ED holds and admitted patients
Team Structure: 2 hospitalist physicians, 4 APPs
Comprehensive Support Staff: General surgery, emergency medicine, OB/GYN, cardiology, orthopedics, ENT, primary care, and oncology
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses

Must be a board-certified Internal Medicine with extensive experience in acute and emergency care
A compassionate, patient-focused approach is essential for providing top-notch call coverage
Familiarity with Locum Tenens work and a willingness to adapt to diverse clinical settings
Proven ability to manage busy, 24-hour shifts while remaining calm and efficient
Excellent communication skills to ensure smooth collaboration with local healthcare teams
A strong commitment to community health in the beautiful Carolinas
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Active unencumbered MD or DO North Carolina state license
Graduate from a fully accredited MD or DO program
One year of work experience as an Internal Medicine Hospitalist
One year of EMR experience

Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
