Summary:

Originally called the Maine Red Claws, the Maine Celtics have been the NBA G League Affiliate of the Boston Celtics since the team’s inaugural campaign during the 2009-10 season. The Boston Celtics purchased the franchise prior to the start of the 2019-20 season and renamed the team to the Maine Celtics in May 2021. The Celtics play their home games at the Portland Expo. 20 players have earned Gatorade Call-Ups to the NBA, including two players to Boston. Additionally, 34 Boston Celtics have been assigned to Maine for development or rehabilitation. 14 former Maine coaches have made the jump to the NBA, including Boston Celtics Assistant General Manager Austin Ainge.

As an Account Executive, you will be directly responsible for growing our ticket revenue and building our pipeline for the future. We are seeking a dedicated teammate with strong time management, organizational and interpersonal skills. This role will report to the Manager, Ticket Sales & Services.

Responsibilities:

• Drive new season ticket accounts, including mini plan packages and group tickets
• Nurture relationships with current accounts and broaden outreach to prospective clients
• Implement creative outbound sales efforts via prospecting, networking and lead generation
• Meet and exceed established weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals
• Provide memorable customer experiences to all current and potential clients
• Work all home games and scheduled events to service current accounts and sell new ticket prospects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and equivalent work experience
• Basic computer skills – proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficient in CRM including Salesforce and Ticketmaster Archtics
• Professional, goal-oriented individual willing to lead by example
• Minimum of 1 year of successful sales experience
• Highly motivated with a desire to continue to make the Maine Celtics the best franchise in the NBA G League
• Comfortable and confident on the phone or in individual/group presentation settings
• Detail-oriented and organized; ability to handle several projects at once
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

About the NBA G League:

The NBA’s official minor league, the NBA G League prepares players, coaches, officials, trainers, and front-office staff for the NBA while acting as the league’s research and development laboratory. Featuring 31 teams, 30 with direct affiliations to NBA franchises for 2023-24, the league offers elite professional basketball at an affordable price in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. 41 percent of all NBA players at the start of the 2021-22 season boasted NBA G League experience. In fostering the league’s connection to the community, its teams, players, and staff promote health and wellness, support local needs and interests, and assist in educational development through NBA Cares programs.
