We are seeking a Territory Representative in Seattle, Washington.

 

POSITION:  Territory Representative (Seattle)

JOB SUMMARY: Territory Representatives establish and manage sales relationships within their assigned territory, while providing our brands with a high level of service, expertise, and support. They are experts in working strategically to improve sets, fill voids, confirm execution of off-shelf agreements and TPR price points, and maximize promotional spending for our principals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop and strengthen relationships with store level buyers, managers and store staff at Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Markets, NGVC, independent and Co-Op buyers.

2. Develop positive and trusting relationships with all of our wellness and crossover (wellness/grocery) brand principals.

3. Ensure brands are well represented in stores with approved skus.

4. Be an expert in wellness and crossover (wellness/grocery) lines YYN represents in the region.

5. Be proactive in supporting retailers, distributors, and principals with resets (may require early morning/overnighters), store openings, trade shows.

6. Proactively recommend ways to increase sales for principals.

7. Provide administrative support for regional retailers.

8. Provide field level support for assigned area, working with their lead to prioritize when necessary.

9. Stay aware of and report on efforts by competitors to our principals regarding new items, new pricing, new packaging, etc.

10. Be proactive in generating ideas for growing our principals’ business and make suggestions for improvement.

11. Be proactive in generating ideas for continuously improving ourselves, our service to our principals, and the well-being of our team members.

 

MEASURABLE OBJECTIVES

1. Account Management: Present and receive buyer approval for new lines/skus for all accounts (including chain and independent stores) for brands.

2. Proactive & Regular Communication: Ongoing and timely communication with YYN team and principals. Prioritize responding to principals within 24 hours.

3. Field Performance:

  • Visit all stores on the frequency and cadence agreed upon with your supervisor (customized by territory). Work to improve placement of products: eye level, multiple facings, end cap, multiple locations.
  • Prioritizing top brands, new items, promotional execution, but touching all brands during each visit.
  • Help store buyers restock shelves during store visits.
  • Ensure out-of-stock SKUs are reordered immediately (via turnover or scanning sell sheets) when available.
  • Report to YYN team and principals with before/after pics from each store visit.

4. Submit schedules and update Market Overviews minimum weekly.

5. Consistently completes administrative follow ups for your retailers (New Item Forms, turnover orders, etc).

6. Identify and develop new market opportunities.

7. Regular check-ins referencing OKR’s and discuss successes, challenges, and brainstorm opportunities with supervisor.

8. Assist Territory Managers to present and receive buyer approval for new lines/SKUs.

9. Assist Territory Managers with Promotional paperwork as needed

10. Uphold Yin Yang Naturals social and environmental values, including prioritizing 40 hours of volunteer work per year, buying local whenever possible, and being environmentally conscious in home office setup and travel decisions in the field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a working, fully insured vehicle and be able to travel independently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. independently and crouch or kneel for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, and ramps.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

 

TERRITORY AND ACCOUNTS

Primary coverage area will be Seattle, Tacoma, and Olympia. Quarterly visits to Skagit Valley, Port Townsend, Sequim, Whidbey and visits to Leavenworth/Wenatchee every 6 months. Key Accounts to include: Sno-Isle CoOp, Skagit Valley CoOp, Central CoOp (Both locations), Olympia CoOp (Both locations), Country Aire, Sunny Farms, and various other Indies. Store level support at WFMs, Sprouts, PCC, Met Market, Haggen, Town & Country, and other key accounts in need of merchandising and audit assistance in the greater Seattle region. Support with resets at Town & Country and PCC Markets 6-12 times a year.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

Reports directly to PNW Regional Manager. 

SALARY RANGE OF POSITION

$50,000-$60,500 salaried nonexempt, depending on experience.
