Job Description

At EdgeCore, security is a mission-critical role that ensures the integrity, safety, and seamless operations of our data center campuses. You will be at the forefront of protecting our infrastructure, overseeing security systems, and driving compliance in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to create a secure, responsive, and professional environment while managing a team of security officers and maintaining access control and video monitoring systems.   • Lead all aspects of Physical Security at an EdgeCore data center, ensuring a secure and compliant environment.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure security systems, including access control and video monitoring.
  • Manage the security maintenance program in coordination with EdgeCore IT to track, schedule, and complete all necessary maintenance.
  • Serve as a primary customer contact for security-related matters, collaborating to find effective solutions while maintaining professionalism.
  • Lead and manage site security officers, ensuring accurate and well-documented physical access management for the data center campus.
  • Enforce strict adherence to all EdgeCore security policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and respond to access control and video monitoring system alarms in a timely and comprehensive manner.
  • Oversee the site security budget, including staffing, system maintenance, repairs, and vendor management.
  • Respond to and resolve security and safety emergencies, including hardware/software failures, security threats, and customer support requests, on a 24/7/365 basis.
  • Document and report incidents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Remain on-call outside of normal working hours and participate in event bridge calls for data center failure management.
  • Adapt to evolving responsibilities as job duties and company needs change over time.

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a large data center environment, with a strong understanding of security operations and protocols.
  • Proven expertise in managing security for data centers under construction, effectively navigating complex challenges while ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and operational continuity.
  • A people-focused leader who fosters a collaborative, team-first culture and enjoys mentoring and developing security personnel.
  • Strong adaptability to dynamic work environments, thriving in situations where schedules shift, and unexpected challenges arise.
  • Basic proficiency in written and verbal communication, with the ability to document incidents and convey information clearly.
  • First Aid/CPR certifications are a plus, demonstrating a commitment to safety and emergency preparedness.
  • Fundamental knowledge of security operating expenses budgets, including staffing, system maintenance, and vendor management.

  • This is a full-time salary position, including equity compensation and a performance-based annual bonus.
  • This is a full-time onsite role based in east Mesa, Arizona
  • Base salary range is $90-130k, depending on experience and location
