Position Summary: The Associate Director of Finance will play a critical leadership role within the Finance Department, contributing to strategic decision-making and ensuring the financial health and regulatory compliance of the organization. This position demands a finance professional with comprehensive hands-on experience across the full spectrum of accounting and finance operations—ranging from financial reporting, budgeting, and audit management to payroll and inventory accounting. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, advanced Excel skills, and preferably experience working with QuickBooks Online. This role involves close collaboration with senior leadership, cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, operations, commercial), and external partners (e.g., auditors, investors), and includes oversight of both tactical financial processes and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and/or perform key accounting functions, including: Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) Expense accruals and prepayments Payroll/commissions processing and compliance Inventory valuation and cost accounting (COGS, standard vs. actual costs) Mentor and guide finance staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Maintain and enforce internal controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements. Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Conduct in-depth financial analysis and present actionable insights to executive leadership. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning aligned with corporate goals. Manage and support financial audits and deliver financial materials for board and investor presentations. Perform financial modeling to support capital investments, equipment financing, and other strategic initiatives. Assist and collaborate with cross-functional teams during financial/operational system migrations or software implementations to ensure accurate setup, data integrity, and process alignment. Oversee compliance with U.S. federal and state tax regulations, including income tax reporting and sales/use tax filings; coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely preparation and submission of returns, and support tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position. Support financial and operational alignment across departments such as product development, manufacturing, operations and commercial teams. Implement and improve financial systems, reporting tools, and automation where applicable. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred). Minimum 7–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity. Deep understanding of US GAAP accounting standards and practical experience across a wide range of accounting functions. Proven ability to manage full-cycle financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes. Advanced Excel proficiency for financial modeling, variance analysis, and data visualization. Experience preparing materials for board meetings, investors, and financial institutions. Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (preferred) and ERP systems (e.g., Zoho, Progen, SAP, Oracle). Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated success working in dynamic, cross-functional environments—ideally in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or manufacturing sector.
