Job Description

The Vice President of Finance and Accounting will be a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's financial operations, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, budgeting, treasury management, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will provide strategic guidance to senior management, ensuring the financial health and integrity of the organization while supporting its growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives, including long-term financial planning, capital allocation, and risk management.
  2. Accounting Operations: Oversee all aspects of the full accounting cycle, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, billing, cash management, fixed assets, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reviews, and consolidated financial reporting
  3. Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. Ensure effective internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
  4. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting efforts, collaborating with department heads to establish financial targets and monitor performance against key metrics.
  5. Financial Analysis and Decision Support: Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making, investment opportunities, and operational efficiency initiatives. Evaluate business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  6. Leadership and Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA.
  • Non-profit industry experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
  • Proven track record of success in financial management, strategic planning, and business analysis.
  • Strong technical expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting
