Overview: Supply Chain Supervisor
The Supply Chain Supervisor monitors the daily operation for the flow of goods and information, to ensure efficiency in the areas of inventory, logistics and manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- General knowledge of contract negotiation with carriers and vendors.
- Ensure daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly management tools and reports are completed on time.
- Responsible for forming a good working relationship with team members at every level.
- Work closely with direct reports to conduct detailed performance evaluations and robust development plans to ensure performance remains at a high level and they are prepared for opportunities for growth.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong visual presentation skills related to reports, scorecards, dashboards and presentations.
- Ability to review and negotiate better pricing for RMs, Freight Costs, warehouse storage costs, etc.
- Work closely with the Corporate Supply Chain Team to gain knowledge of the Strat Plan and potential delays that could negatively impact our KPIs.
- Create visual management system to track issues and implement problem-solving into the daily operation.
- Create a nonverbal ordering method to request the ordering of raw materials. (P-Cards, group email address, visual management board, etc.)
- Detailed communication is key. Report all issues, bottlenecks, scheduling changes and delays during daily meetings, including resolutions to resolve the issues.
- Create an operations scheduling system to proactively post batch tickets for 3 to 5 days to mitigate production delays, raw material delays and shortages and container availability issues. This ensures that QC, Operators, Leads and Supervisors have a clear vision of the game plan.
- Analyze data and review inventory min/maxes to alleviate overstock and right size inventory holding quantities. Focus on cost reduction.
- Ensure all finished products are designated to the current storage location/bin. This includes rework, waste, and QC Hold.
- Manage planning parameters associated with supply and demand to ensure inventory plans are executed within the KPI parameters
- Create a robust onboarding and cross-training process to ensure employees can be fully trained quickly and thoroughly.
- Perform quarterly performance evaluations and have regular one-on-ones with your team to ensure each one knows their strengths and fully understands the areas in need of improvement.
- Ability to assess and initiate actions independently, demonstrated ability to take charge of a situation, team or project.
- Take responsibility for all activities within the department and implement action plans to ensure all discrepancies and non-conformances are addressed in a timely manner.
- Review Batch Tickets to take every opportunity to utilize rework, working closely with R&D to research opportunities to surpass the 10% allotment for rework batches.
- Overtime as needed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in supply chain, business or other related field, preferred.
- 3 + years in a supply chain leadership role.
- 5 + years of material planning experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently or in teams.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to excel in a high volume fast-paced manufacturing environment.
