Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly strategic, data-driven Senior Social Content Strategist to lead the growth, performance, and direction of social media presence across all brand verticals—Ecommerce, Partnerships, and Foundation. Reporting to the Creative Director, this role will guide platform strategy, oversee content direction, lead key cross-functional initiatives, and optimize performance using data-backed insights.

This senior-level strategist will own content ideation and performance strategy, build scalable content systems, grow platform engagement, and lead the creative planning process in partnership with internal teams and external collaborators. You’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our brand reach and engagement through authentic storytelling that moves audiences to take action.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Growth & Strategy

· Develop and lead a comprehensive social media growth strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube that aligns with brand and business objectives.

· Create platform-specific playbooks to drive audience acquisition, retention, and engagement.

· Monitor trends, algorithms, and competitive benchmarks to inform content direction and platform diversification.

· Own the social channel roadmap and evolve brand voice based on audience behavior and feedback.

Analytics, Reporting & Optimization

· Define KPIs, benchmarks, and platform goals across business units.

· Monitor daily/weekly content performance, identifying trends and opportunities for optimization.

· Deliver monthly analytics reports with actionable insights for leadership and cross-functional partners.

· Use tools such as Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Meta Insights, and native platform data to drive performance.

Content Direction & Campaign Execution

· Lead content ideation for seasonal campaigns, product launches, brand partnerships, and Foundation activations.

· Partner with design and video teams to produce engaging, trend-aligned content tailored to each platform.

· Maintain a unified visual identity and tone while customizing narratives for different target audiences.

· Oversee a content calendar and ensure deadlines, approvals, and publishing schedules are consistently met.

Collaboration & Strategic Leadership

· Act as the bridge between social media and 4ocean’s internal teams (Creative, Partnerships, Foundation, and Ecomm).

· Lead weekly content planning meetings and creative reviews; present campaign updates and platform performance to stakeholders.

· Collaborate closely with the Partnerships Team to develop and execute co-branded campaigns and influencer collaborations.

· Provide creative guidance to junior designers, freelancers, and social media contributors.

Community & Audience Engagement

· Guide overall strategy for social community management and audience interaction.

· Support influencer and ambassador activations to maximize reach and authenticity.

· Monitor brand sentiment and escalate critical issues with appropriate teams.

Qualifications

Experience

· 5+ years of experience in social media strategy, content creation, or digital marketing—preferably within mission-driven, consumer, or lifestyle brands.

· Proven success scaling brand channels and growing communities on Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.

· Strong track record of collaborating across partnerships, creative, and executive teams.

Technical Skills

· Expertise with tools like Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, and social analytics platforms.

· Strong understanding of performance metrics, content testing, and UTM/link tracking.

· Proficiency in e-commerce metrics, including conversions, traffic, and AOV, is a plus.

Strategic & Creative Traits

· A creative, analytical thinker with exceptional storytelling skills.

· Confident leading meetings, presenting insights, and influencing cross-functional decisions.

· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

· Passion for sustainability, ocean advocacy, and social impact storytelling.
