Job Title: Scheduler

Location: Kalamazoo, MI

Job Summary:

The Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and executing the daily scheduling of work and resource planning within an assigned business unit. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational efficiency by organizing, monitoring, and adjusting schedules in real time, as well as supporting emergent operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement daily work plans, including organizing and dispatching assignments.
  • Facilitate daily meetings and contribute to short-range forecasting.
  • Communicate effectively with field operations, supervisors, and other supporting teams in alignment with established procedures.
  • Use scheduling systems and software tools to monitor progress, submit orders/requests, and make real-time adjustments as needed.
  • Analyze data to refine and optimize scheduling decisions, where applicable.
  • Respond promptly to emergent issues, including escalations and unexpected volume changes, following the unit’s protocols.
  • Ensure work is prioritized and scheduled efficiently to meet operational goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to think critically and respond to urgent or unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Prior experience in scheduling, dispatching, or resource planning is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in utility, construction, field service, or logistics environments.
  • Familiarity with scheduling or workforce management systems (e.g., SAP, ServiceNow, Oracle, etc.).
  • Data analysis skills or experience using data to support operational decisions.
