Job Description

Planner Scheduler

Tampa FL

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Work Request Management (20%)

  • Finalize and manage work requests, ensuring all follow-up activities are accurately captured and completed.
  • Resolve material discrepancies in coordination with ED Stores and Plant Accounting.

Operational Planning & Support (20%)

  • Provide logistical, planning, and coordination support to SPP Operations.
  • Administer and track work requests, monitor job readiness, and ensure the availability of required materials and equipment.
  • Support resource optimization across Planning & Scheduling teams.
  • Assist in validating job plans, including task sequencing, labor hours, and resource requirements.

Contractor & Material Oversight (20%)

  • Manage material issuance to contractors, including conducting proactive audits at contractor storage sites.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and maintain compliance with corporate inventory standards.
  • Reconcile all contractor-related material and work request activities.

Schedule Coordination (10%)

  • Prepare and present a weekly four-week work forecast.
  • Participate in planning meetings and ensure seamless handoff of construction documentation to ED Operations (e.g., job plans, maps, drawings, and permits).

Workload Verification & Job Readiness (10%)

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, SPP Design teams, and contractors to validate upcoming workloads, job readiness, and resource availability.

Inventory Audits & Corrections (10%)

  • Coordinate and support inventory audits, manage real-time activities, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Execute necessary corrections and write-offs per compliance standards.

Administrative & Analytical Support (10%)

  • Conduct ad hoc research and analyze material usage and storage trends for operational improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with supply chain recordkeeping standards.
  • Track and publish department metrics, and support budget activities, petty cash handling, and employee timekeeping.

  • Planner-Schedulers, Area Managers, Field Engineers, ED Operations Supervisors, System Operators, Materials Management

External Stakeholders:

  • Contractor Partners

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: College degree (may substitute for up to 2 years of related experience)

Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of 3 years in underground and overhead distribution construction, with increasing responsibility
  • Preferred: Distribution operations experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Required:
  • Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and standard practices in electric delivery operations
  • Understanding of construction, maintenance, and safety protocols
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in GIS, WORKPro (or similar work management system), and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication and attention to detail
  • Preferred:
  • Familiarity with Customer Information Systems (CIS)
