Encore Talent Solutions has partnered with a client in search of a Project Manager with warehousing and material handling industry experience on a contract-to-hire basis. We are seeking a Project Manager who has experience managing and deploying software development teams.

Highlights:

• Project Management Focus: Strong understanding of project management principles, including planning, scheduling, work breakdown structures, and financial considerations. The role requires managing projects across two sectors: software development and control systems, necessitating versatility.
• Customer Relationship Management: Project managers must excel in reading interpersonal dynamics, understanding customer needs, and communicating effectively across technical and business contexts, while managing conflict.
• Revenue and Project Oversight: Project managers typically oversee around $7 million in revenue annually, managing 10-15 projects. They must juggle multiple projects and clients, requiring organizational and multitasking skills for timely, efficient delivery.
• Travel: Estimated at 20-30%, travel involves site visits for project phases, including kickoff meetings, installations, commissioning checks, and final testing. Duration can range from 1-2 days for local sites to a week for distant locations.
• Performance Evaluation: Project managers are assessed on internal collaboration, customer management, business acumen, and project ownership. Criteria include project planning, communication quality, and effective collaboration with subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, focusing on software development and controls engineering.
• Build strong customer relationships to align solutions with their business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders, providing status updates.
• Tackle project challenges and ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
• Monitor performance metrics, emphasizing customer satisfaction and project quality.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; PMP certification is a plus.
• Proven experience in project management, especially in software and controls engineering.
• Strong technical understanding with the ability to communicate to non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, focused on customer success.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project & Suite).
