Position Overview

C2 Collaborative is seeking a Principal to lead our expansion into the Texas market, establishing and growing our presence in the region. This is a high-level leadership role for an accomplished professional with a proven ability to drive business development, client relationships, and market penetration in Texas.

As a Principal, you will play a critical role in shaping the firm's identity and visibility in the region, ensuring our values, design excellence, and strategic vision are executed at the highest level. You will be responsible for not only delivering outstanding landscape architecture but also actively leading our business development efforts in Texas, cultivating new relationships, and securing high-profile projects.

This position requires strong leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and market expertise, with the ability to make key decisions and drive firmwide initiatives while working collaboratively with the executive team.

Key Responsibilities

Texas Market Leadership & Business Development

  • Serve as a key leader of C2 Collaborative in Texas, establishing and growing our regional presence from the ground up.
  • Develop and execute a business development strategy, identifying new client opportunities, securing projects, and expanding our portfolio.
  • Build relationships with developers, municipalities, architects, and industry partners, positioning C2 Collaborative as a leader in Texas’s landscape architecture industry.
  • Represent C2 Collaborative at local industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance brand recognition and visibility.
  • Oversee and lead proposal development and client presentations, ensuring competitive positioning in the Texas market.

Leadership & Operations (Remote to In-Person Transition)

  • Operate independently in Texas while staying closely connected to the leadership team in California.
  • Provide strategic leadership and high-level decision-making, ensuring alignment with firmwide goals and growth objectives.
  • Establish operational strategies for future office expansion, including hiring key staff as business opportunities grow.
  • Oversee the recruitment and hiring of additional team members, helping to build a local Texas office as the firm gains traction.
  • Maintain a strong firm culture and collaborative environment, even while working remotely.

Client & Project Management

  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional service and repeat business.
  • Lead and oversee major design projects, ensuring delivery of creative, sustainable, and profitable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with firmwide goals, design standards, and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in landscape architecture or a related field.
  • Licensed Landscape Architect (or eligible for licensure in Texas).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in landscape architecture, with demonstrated leadership in business development and market expansion.
  • Proven success in securing and managing large-scale projects in landscape architecture, urban planning, or related disciplines.
  • Established network in Texas’s development and design community is highly preferred.
  • Expertise in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling/rendering programs.
  • Strong client management and relationship-building skills, with a track record of winning and retaining business.
  • Exceptional ability to present and communicate design solutions to clients, stakeholders, and industry leaders.
  • A visionary mindset, capable of growing a new office, leading a team, and establishing C2 Collaborative as a premier landscape architecture firm in Texas.

Salary

The annual salary for this position will be contingent upon experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefit plan that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long‐term disability insurance, Flexible Spending Account, and both a Traditional and Roth 401(k) account. We also provide a generous vacation plan, paid holidays, sick days, and half-day Fridays.
