Job Title: Plant Pathologist

Location: Chesterfield, MO 63017

Duration: 6 Month(s) Contract (possible extension)

Pay Range: $30-38/hr on w2 (Without benefits)

Job Description:

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks such as preparing testing supplies, maintaining inoculum cultures, conducting plant care activities, and utilizing digital tools for data recording.
• Previous experience in plant care or plant pathology/nematology is beneficial but not required.
• The successful candidate must exhibit strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Work in clean laboratory and growth chamber environments with plants, soil, and plant pathogens
• Prepare testing supplies and maintain inoculum cultures
• Conduct planting, general plant care, plant inoculations, disease ratings
• Regularly clean labs and chambers
• Utilize digital tools for data access and recording

Skills:

• Familiarity with sterile technique is a plus
• Ability to follow procedures and SOPs diligently
• Strong organizational skills and work ethic
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Comfortable working in dusty or warm environments

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required
• 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred
• Specific experience with AAV vector manufacturing and testing is a plus
