Job Description

Location: Austin, Texas (Retail Pharmacy Setting)

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Pharmacist to join a reputable retail pharmacy team in Austin, Texas. This role is ideal for someone who combines clinical expertise with a passion for patient care and community engagement. The ideal candidate will be experienced in dispensing medications, counseling patients, managing pharmacy operations, and ensuring full compliance with all regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately fill and dispense prescriptions while verifying dosage, drug interactions, and patient history.
  • Provide clear and compassionate counseling to patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and storage.
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including inventory management, ordering, and ensuring medication availability.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy technicians, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure continuity of care.
  • Monitor controlled substances and maintain complete and accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Administer immunizations and vaccinations as permitted by Arizona law.
  • Participate in quality assurance processes, audits, and pharmacy performance improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current on developments in pharmacology and retail pharmacy best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited program.
  • Active and unrestricted Texas Pharmacist License.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting preferred (new grads welcome to apply with strong internship experience).
  • Immunization certification required (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and insurance processing.

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • Retail Hours: Monday – Saturday (exact schedule varies), including some evenings and weekends
  • Full-time position, 40+ hours/week

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $120,000 – $140,000 a year ($57.00 – $67.00 per hour), based on experience.

  • Final Onsite Interview with the Senior Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacy Director.
