The North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board’s Administration Unit has an opening for an Office Technician (Typing). The position is located in Sonoma County at 5550 Skylane Blvd. Ste A, Santa Rosa, CA 95403, with available free parking and within 1.5 miles of the local SMART train station.

Duties: Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the Office Technician (Typing) provides exceptional customer service, has excellent attention to detail, and exceptional collaborating skills.  Additionally, the desirable candidate must maintain consistent and dependable attendance.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.

You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired.   • RPA# 24-110-038 in the “Examination or Job Title(s)” section of the State application when submitting a hardcopy application.
  • Office Technician (Typing) – This position requires the ability to type at a minimum speed of 40 words per minute as designated on the Class Specifications. You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to taking the examination.

Must have Office Technician (Typing) list, transfer, or reinstatement eligibility and be reachable on the certification list.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Experience working with databases.

• Microsoft Office computer software experience (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• File management experience.

• Possess a valid California Class C Driver’s License.

• Customer service experience.

Water Board employees may be eligible for benefits. Health benefits and leave programs are available for most permanent, full-time employees, and some permanent, part-time employees. It should be typed, no more than one (1) page in length, using Arial size 12 pt. font , and normal margins.
