Job Description

About Us

Aloha! We are a locally-founded nonprofit organization, dedicated to connecting passionate volunteers with charitable organizations across the Hawaiian islands. VolunteerAlly streamlines the process of volunteerism by directly connecting volunteers, non-profits, and affiliate organizations – all on one platform. Our goal is to form a lasting relationship between volunteers and organizations, and to encourage volunteers to make volunteerism a part of their everyday lifestyle while providing an engaging experience.

The Position

We seek a dedicated, proactive, and highly organized Volunteer Coordinator to join the VolunteerAlly team and play a key role in expanding our volunteer/nonprofit outreach and engagement efforts. This position is essential in helping us grow our network of nonprofit partners and attract new volunteers to our platform. This role will focus on cultivating relationships with individuals, school groups, clubs, and educational organizations, while also supporting and maintaining strong connections with our current nonprofit partners. You must be a confident communicator—comfortable presenting VolunteerAlly’s mission and platform to both small and large groups, whether in person or virtually via Zoom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and recruit new nonprofits and attract individual volunteers, school groups, clubs, and community orgs.
  • Lead campus and community-based recruitment initiatives to attract a diverse and committed volunteer base.
  • Plan and coordinate events to increase awareness, drive volunteer and nonprofit users, site activity, and foster community engagement
  • Provide ongoing support to nonprofits and volunteer groups to ensure a positive and impactful experience for all participants.
  • Represent VolunteerAlly at community events, fairs, and outreach opportunities.
  • Monitor nonprofit and volunteer activities to ensure alignment with VolunteerAlly’s mission and adherence to organizational policies and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with nonprofits to understand their evolving volunteer needs and help them effectively leverage the platform.

Ideal Candidate

  • Self-motivated and passionate about volunteerism, community engagement, and creating social impact.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks independently.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging with diverse audiences at public events, school visits, and virtual meetings.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
  • Adaptable and resourceful, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Empathetic and people-centered, able to build and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, nonprofit partners, and community organizations.
  • Team player, goal-oriented and results-driven
  • Experience in outreach, community engagement, or volunteer coordination is a plus.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Google Workspace and Canva.

Join us in making a difference in the community through effective volunteer management! Let's revolutionize volunteerism together!
