You will report directly to both the Clinical Coordinator and the Office Manager, ensuring comprehensive support and clear communication across clinical and administrative functions.

What You'll Do:

As a key member of the team, you'll seamlessly blend clinical support with essential patient coordination, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience from initial consultation through post-operative care.

Coordinate Patient Journeys: Efficiently schedule neurosurgical procedures, consultations, and follow-up appointments, managing all necessary authorizations and paperwork with meticulous attention.

Secure Authorizations : Expertly handle surgery authorization processes, including verifying insurance coverage, initiating prior authorizations for all procedures and medications, and clearly communicating financial responsibilities to patients.

Clinical Excellence: Prepare patients for examinations, accurately verify medical history and medications, take vital signs, and assist/chaperone the physician during exams and in-clinic procedures.

Patient Advocacy: Complete FMLA/Disability forms, manage prescription send/call-ins, and coordinate referrals, follow-ups, and other essential patient requests.

Communication Hub: Expertly answer and triage telephone calls, ensuring clear and concise messages are relayed to physicians and staff in a timely manner.

Operational Flow: Maintain the organization and efficiency of clinic and exam rooms, ensuring a seamless and welcoming patient environment.

What You'll Bring:

Proven Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in a medical office, including direct medical assistant experience, is essential. Neurosurgery or spine experience is a significant advantage.

Active MA Certification: You must possess a current and active Medical Assistant (MA) license/certification.

Authorization Expertise: Demonstrated experience with surgery authorization processes and navigating complex insurance requirements.

Medical Acumen: Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance practices, CPT, and ICD-10 coding.

Tech Savvy: Comfortable and proficient with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and other relevant computer programs and applications in a medical office setting.

Organizational Prowess: Exceptional ability to organize, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple demands effectively.

Collaborative Spirit: A proven ability to work effectively as a team member, fostering strong working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.

Clear Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on courtesy, clarity, and empathy.

Self-Motivated & Adaptable: Ability to work with minimal supervision and flexibly respond to changing demands and priorities.
