Position Overview:
NTT is hiring a highly energetic Senior Tier-3 Network Lead Engineer to join our Global Operations Center. Our Network Engineers are responsible for managing the network and security infrastructure for large Enterprise Customers. This Engineer leads critical network operations as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex incidents, outages, performance issues, and changes. Performs troubleshooting, resolution, and root cause analysis for network, security, and cloud connectivity challenges. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize network performance, enforce standards, provide technical leadership, drive automation projects, and ensure operational excellence. This Lead Engineer will work within a team of network engineers, security engineers, voice engineers, automation engineers, and suppliers to support NTT Global Network’s Customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for securing and managing large Enterprise networks including the planning, design, and operation of corporate Enterprise SDWAN, WAN, LAN, Wireless, VoIP, and Cloud services
- Provide Customer support with monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and resolution of network, security, and cloud functionality issues
- Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for complex network issues including high-impact incidents, service outages, chronic problems, and changes on underlay and overlay SD-WAN, LAN, WLAN, NAC, DNS/DHCP/IPAM and Cloud based network services
- Serve as escalation point with underlay ISPs and network vendors for complex network issues including high-impact incidents, service outages, planned and unplanned maintenance, chronic problems, and changes
- Perform complex changes and maintenance on Enterprise infrastructure and Backbone network
- Lead customer infrastructure optimization efforts including security hardening, code management, vulnerability management, configuration remediation, and standardization
- Perform configuration and code updates across WLAN, LAN, SD-WAN, NAC, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, SASE, SSE, and Cloud-based network services
- Implement network and security technology projects including design, proof of concept testing, and configuration for enterprise customers
- Perform on-premises WLAN, LAN, SD-WAN network infrastructure and SASE design reviews, develop detailed health assessments, remediation deployment plans, and remediation.
- Perform root cause analysis post high-impacting incidents and changes.
- Provide consulting to enterprise customer Architects and CIOs for IT network design, architecture, and compliance
- Design and implement AI-driven automation to proactively identify performance issues, optimize routing, and reduce manual intervention across edge and cloud environments
- Train junior network and security engineers on cutting-edge technologies
- On-call for escalated network issues
Required Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of seven years of experience as a network engineer, with strong hands-on network, security, and application troubleshooting experience
- Detailed hands-on technical experience in the operational support of SDWAN, WAN, LAN, Switch, Wireless, VoIP, NAC, DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management, and Cloud-based solutions
- Experience in supporting advanced MPLS technologies including L3VPN, L2VPN, and VPLS as well as Internet based WAN connectivity solutions including DIA, Broadband, Fixed Wireless, 4G/LTE/5G, and Satellite
- Experience managing leading network and security products including Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Silverpeak, Palo Alto, Arista, and Fortinet
- Experience in Juniper MX and QFX series routers and switches, Cisco Nexus Switches particularly within large-scale MPLS backbone network environments
- Expert level knowledge of IP networking routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP
- Strong understanding of network layer technologies and controls, including routing, segmentation, virtualization, and traffic engineering
- Proficient in implementing network layer security measures such as 802.1X Network Access Control, access control lists, and segmentation for policy enforcement and compliance.
- Expertise in Layer 2 technologies, including Spanning Tree Protocol (STP/rSTP), Link Aggregation (Port Channels, LAG/LACP), 802.1Q VLAN tagging, and 802.1p CoS/QoS for performance and reliability optimization.
- Experience with deployment and management of cloud infrastructure including AWS, MS Azure, OpenStack, CloudStack, Netskope, Prisma, Zscaler, and Virtual Private Cloud
- Experience managing SASE/SSE components including SDWAN, Cloud Firewall, Secure Web Gateway, Cloud Access Security Broker, Zero Trust Network Access, and DNS Security.
- Experience with centralized policy management tools including Algosec, Tufin, and Firemon
- Some experience with deployment and management of Firewall/IDS/IPS solutions including Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, and Checkpoint
- Experience with IPSec, secure network connectivity solutions, VPN technologies such as site-to-site and remote access, load-balancing, and network access control technologies
- Experience with zero trust setups and AAA/TACACS frameworks such as segmentation, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, and AD integration
- Ability to perform remote packet captures and packet capture analysis
- Experience with network automation frameworks, API programmability including REST, RESTCONF, and NETCONF
- Strong knowledge of automation and scripting languages such as Python and Perl
- Knowledge of security compliance standards and frameworks such as GDPR, SOC2, and guidelines in major industry verticals
- Ability to engage in technical discussions with customer network and security architects
- Excellent computer skills including Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or CCVP
- Passionate about Customer support
- Familiarity with enterprise security controls and security best practices
- Track record of getting things done quickly and with quality
- Ability to manage multiple projects while aligning to resources, priorities, and timelines
- Travel to Customer locations
- Prior experience working on global teams that provide 24x7 support to customers
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed to accommodate global team
- Ability to work effectively with customers, senior management, staff, and vendors
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Estimated Annual Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000
