Job Description

Located in Dallas, Texas, and founded in 1981, the Skorburg Company is seeking a highly-skilled, motivated, detail-oriented individual to help support the Land Acquisition Department and assist in researching and organizing market studies for the acquisition team to make informed investment decisions. 

This position requires collaboration with the Land Acquisition team to gather detailed qualitative and quantitative home and lot pricing market information for multiple real estate markets. Preparing market studies requires detailed market analysis, an ability to confirm market facts (not soft verbals) with 3 rd parties, resourcefulness to collect accurate information, and strong organization and follow-up skills (as market studies are an ongoing process). 

The work product of the Land Acquisition Research Analyst is used by the Acquisition Team to evaluate current market conditions including supply, demand, pricing, and identify what housing products are selling well or not (and reasons thereto). Hence, the market studies are fundamental to helping the Acquisition Team identify where opportunities may be to “fill the need” of a submarket. Land Acquisition Research Analysts gain broad exposure to evaluating and underwriting real estate submarkets, which exposes them to simultaneously learn several elements of the land acquisition process.

For this role, the Skorburg Company is currently seeking a highly-skilled, motivated, detail-oriented, tenacious and able individual who wants to align themselves with a leading development company. The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s degree, and any experience as a leasing agent, realtor, property manager, or strategic marketing background would be a plus.

Responsibilities assigned to this role shall include, but may not be limited to, the following:

· Maintain up-to-date market information in an organized and accessible format to best assist the land acquisition team. This tasks includes updating bar charts, dot graphs (home pricing data), and helping to present market studies to members of Skorburg Company’s homebuilding affiliate (Windsor Homes).

· Create research maps that show current and future utilities, roads, and school boundaries

· Prepare detailed analysis of submarkets by compiling information of multiple neighborhoods for the evaluation of the Acquisition Team to analyze

· Conducting property research from the company database and the internet

· Conducting market studies by talking with cities, homebuilding companies, engineers, city planning and zoning departments, etc.

· Communicating weekly with cities to receive agendas and minutes for City Council and Planning & Zoning Commission meetings

· Communicating all pertinent information to development associates and management

Requirements:
