Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

• Adhere to all laboratory procedures and policies
• Process specimens, perform testing procedures, and generate accurate reports
• Maintain required records and logs
• Recognize and report issues that could impact test performance; consult with the Supervisor or Director for corrective actions
• Identify deviations from established performance specifications and notify Supervisor or Director as appropriate
• Implement and document assigned corrective actions
• Confirm proper system functionality before reporting test results
• Perform routine equipment maintenance as assigned
• Participate in quality control and quality improvement initiatives
• Support training and orientation of new testing personnel
• Complete and document all mandatory training, including annual safety training (include type of training, trainer, and time spent)
• Remain accessible to testing personnel during all testing hours
• Assign daily tasks and manage workload distribution
• Monitor test procedures and specimen processing to ensure consistent analytical performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and non-technical issues; escalate to the Technical Supervisor or Director as needed
• Ensure remedial actions are taken when test systems deviate from expected performance
• Verify that patient test results are released only after corrective actions are completed and systems are functioning properly
• Ensure accurate maintenance of all laboratory records and logs
• Oversee the completion of delegated responsibilities

Shift:

• Sunday - Thursday- 10am start time

Qualifications:

• BS in science related discipline
• Experience with managing a team
• Experience training lower level employees
• Running PCR/qPCR
