HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid)

Salary: $100,000–$140,000

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and coordinate mechanical systems for high-performing buildings across healthcare, government, education, and institutional projects. This role offers hands-on technical work, close collaboration with project teams, and a clear path for professional growth.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop mechanical construction documents for HVAC and ductwork/piping systems
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and multidisciplinary teams
• Support project planning, schedules, and technical decision-making
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and site visits
• Prepare system narratives, Basis of Design documents, and specifications
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to QA/QC and process improvements
• Explore energy-efficient and sustainable mechanical solutions

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of HVAC design experience (A/E or consulting environment preferred)
• PE license or ability to obtain within 1–2 years
• Experience with healthcare, government, education, or institutional projects a plus
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills

Software Experience

• Revit (preferred)
• AutoCAD
• Microsoft Office
• Trane Trace or Carrier HAP (preferred)
