OVERVIEW
An established Texas wine marketing company seeks an energetic, highly motivated individual to help manage its Greater Houston and Gulf Coast Business. You must be highly organized, entrepreneurial, and have a track record of getting outstanding performance
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with distributor management and sales to achieve goals.
• Call on, and provide high-level service support to, retail and on-premise accounts. Both chain and independent.
• Education of distributor personnel and trade.
• Conduct wine tastings and wine dinners for consumers/trade.
• Develop new business and maintain existing distributor and trade relationships.
• Solicit sales and develop new accounts while maintaining established accounts.
• Be prepared to work evening and weekend hours when necessary, in order to accomplish immediate goals and/or required administrative tasks.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
• 3-10 years related wine industry experience required. Wholesale experience required. Previous successful supplier experience preferred.
- Existing relationships in the Gulf Coast market.
• Prefer experience selling to on and off premise accounts, Experience with national retail and on premise chain accounts a plus. Experience at store level with Houston Grocery and Liquor Chains
• Excellent communications skills, including public speaking.
• Wine knowledgeable, from the vineyard to the table. Both domestic and imports. (Certification preferred)
• Well organized, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
• Must be effective through others, manage time well and prioritize tasks.
• Perform tasks using standard computer equipment including MS Office
• Ability to lift and carry a 9.0 liter case of wine.
• Must possess a current driver’s license, automobile and automobile insurance.
