The ATP/CTP Instructor conducts flight training in the virtual procedures trainer (VPT), full flight simulator and classroom ground training to bridge the gap between the knowledge of a commercial pilot and that expected of an ATP Certificate holder. This instructor will conduct ground training and flight training modules covering aircraft systems, including normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Key Duties
• Conduct academic ground training events in the classroom, virtual procedures trainer (VPT), and/or full flight simulator to reinforce the air carrier concepts and principles taught in the academic portion of the course in a hands-on manner.
• Apply knowledge of aviation and effective training methods to train flight crew members in classroom setting.
• Make recommendations to the development and evolution of the ATP CTP training program, visual aids and other training materials for classroom presentation and individual review.
• Ensure training environment is prepared in advance, presentation media is operating correctly and required reference materials and distributed materials are available.
• Help ensure technical accuracy of information used by pilots in training, including computer-based training modules, aircraft manuals and other distributed materials.
Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Required
• 5 years of working experience in the aviation industry.
• 2 years of experience as a pilot for a Part 121 air carrier.
• Possess an ATP certificate with an ERJ170/190 Type Rating.
• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on aviation or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree.
• Knowledge of Crew Resource Management (CRM) concepts.
• Ability to facilitate a cooperative relationship within the department.
• Able to lead discussions and present both technical and non-technical information with high energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellence.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 21.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred
• Experience with fixed-wing and multi-engine aircraft.
