Job Description

We are looking for a Spring 2026 Fashion Design intern who is hardworking, detail oriented and a creative thinker to join our Design Team. This internship is unpaid so candidates must be able to receive academic credit. Intern must be available to work in NYC 2-3 days a week and remotely as needed.

The intern will gain an understanding of how products are developed from concept to production, hands-on experience with the development process at sample rooms, professional correspondence with vendors and build a professional network in a creative environment.

- Learn how to package and pass information to mills and factories

- Handle pattern corrections for sampling and production planning

- Develop an understanding of the many roles in the creation of product for future career options

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with steaming fit samples, organizing RTW space, labeling all fit samples/SMS, fabric library upkeep.

Sort all fabric headers into their pertinent files by vendor/by fabric type.

Assist on RTW boards - cutting/pinning current linesheet and organizing by category/season.

Tagging fabric rolls, sending out packages, helping on style outs/photoshoots.

Assist design team with concept & research development for seasonal deliverables.

Create flat mechanical and hand sketches for presentation boards and tech packs.

Assisting with Design/Market research for trims and details and trends.

Trace, correct and file patterns. Create and update Tech Packs and CM.

Attend fittings, take notes and revise changes.

Develop a relationship with local vendors and pick up/drop off materials to sample rooms.

Support with order tracking and shipping

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Available 2-3 days per week at our atelier (16-20 hours) in New York City (midtown)

Hand/machine sewing skills

Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva and InDesign proficiency

Patternmaking knowledge preferred 

Familiar with luxury and sustainable ready to wear market 

Knowledge of sustainable fashion is a plus

Google Office, Microsoft Excel proficiency

Detail orientation and strong organizational skills

Ability to receive school credit as this is an unpaid internship
