Job Description

JRN #2105

A dynamic Austin-based family of five, with 3 children ages 3-8 years old, is seeking an exceptional Family/Personal Assistant to join their household. This household thrives on structure, creativity, and care — and they’re looking for a proactive and warm professional who can bring calm to the chaos and seamless coordination to their day-to-day operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves working with children while also providing high-level household and personal support. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable managing logistics, tidying up the playroom, prepping dinner, or navigating the after-school carpool.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Provide attentive and engaging after-school childcare (3–5 hours/day), including school pickups and driving to extracurricular activities
  • Support household management: laundry, tidying, basic organizing, and general upkeep
  • Handle errands, grocery runs, and inventory management of household supplies
  • Prepare simple family meals and/or coordinate with external meal services
  • Liaise with and manage household vendors (housekeeper, landscapers, pool maintenance, handyman, etc.)
  • Maintain and update the household calendar, keeping the family on track and well-prepared
  • Occasionally travel with the family domestically and internationally (trips range from 1 week to 1 month)

Qualifications:

  • Warm, kind, and calm under pressure — a steady presence in a lively household
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented, with the flexibility to pivot as plans evolve
  • Experienced with children and confident in handling multiple age groups simultaneously
  • A strong communicator who is collaborative with parents but comfortable working independently
  • Enthusiastic, dependable, and committed to pitching in wherever needed to help the family thrive

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle
  • Valid passport (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Clean background check
  • Willingness to travel with advanced notice
  • Prior experience as a family assistant, nanny, or similar household role is highly valued

Compensation:

  • Up to $45/hour based on experience
  • $200/month car allowance
  • All travel expenses covered (including private accommodations, meals, and transportation)
  • Balanced schedule during travel, including clear downtime and rest
  • Long-term opportunity with a respectful, joyful, and welcoming family environment

Schedule: 11am-7pm. This is a fully onsite position.

Location: Austin, TX
