Position Summary

The Development Manager works to advance the organization’s mission through relationship-building and communication efforts. This position strengthens relationships with donors, funders, partners and stakeholders while leading donor engagement and corporate support. Key responsibilities of this position include grant research and writing, event planning, and stewardship of current members and donors. The Development Manager supervises one intern.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation for this position is $60,000 - $75,000. The Director of Development is eligible for the following benefits:

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead events and fundraising opportunities such as donor membership events, yearly fundraising campaign, Giving Tuesday, programmatic fundraisers, etc.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with donors, funders, partners and community stakeholders.
  • Lead donor engagement efforts.
  • Cultivate corporate relationships and grow corporate support.

  • Assist with the grant process, including researching and identifying opportunities, writing and submitting grant proposals and tracking via spreadsheets, reports
  • Maintain and implement stewardship of current members and donors.
  • Supervise the Development and Marketing Intern.
  • Build positive relationships among staff, dancers, volunteers, funders and partners to foster high morale and ongoing commitment to the organization.
  • Oversee implementation of membership program and membership recruitment
  • Create opportunities to increase the visibility of the organization in Los Angeles through strategic partnerships and special initiatives.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • At least 3 years of direct fundraising and communications experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Comfortable initiating and conducting donor visits and fundraising calls, with demonstrated success at securing donations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Suite, fundraising software, CRMs and online advertising.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
  • Knowledgeable about the latest fundraising tactics and the ability to determine their effectiveness.
  • Complete deliverables in established timeframes while maintaining flexibility.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Availability to work weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Able to work in a group and as an individual.
  • Experience with Neon CRM preferred.
