Exterior Renovation Estimator (Takeoffs)

Role Overview and Details

• Role Type: Full-Time, Onsite.
• Schedule: M–F, with flexible hours.
• Location: Primarily office-based, with occasional required site visits across the five boroughs.
• Support a high-volume, small, family-oriented firm specializing in complex exterior restoration.
• The primary focus is on blueprint review, quantity takeoffs, and bid preparation for a diverse range of exterior scopes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural blueprints for exterior renovation projects.
• Prepare comprehensive and accurate bid packages for various projects.
• Maintain a focus on high-priority exterior scopes, including:
• Façade and brick replacement
• Roofing systems
• Building waterproofing
• Structural reinforcement and steelwork
• Specialty exterior restoration
• (A plus) Provide estimating support for interior scopes as necessary.
• Coordinate with project management and ownership to refine estimates and ensure project feasibility.

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of professional estimating experience within the construction industry.
• Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering blueprints.
• Proven estimating experience across core exterior trades (façades, roofing, waterproofing).
• Familiarity with takeoff and estimating software (e.g., Active Takeoff) is a plus.
