Job Title: Civil Construction Assistant Project Manager

Location: Springfield, IL

Job Type: Full-Time

Experience Level: Junior Level (0-5 years)

Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare equipment, material, and labor takeoffs.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for smaller civil construction projects, with a focus on water/wastewater/stormwater utility infrastructure as well as site development.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes.
• Maintain and update historical cost data for future reference.
• Participate in bid review meetings and present estimates to senior management.
• Assist in project setup and provide cost control support during project execution.
• Assist in creating, implementing, and monitoring project schedules.
• Enters, tracks and reviews purchase orders, shop drawings, and submittals.

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret design plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• 3 years of experience in civil construction estimating, specifically in utility projects and buried infrastructure is preferred.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam software is preferred.
• Experience with estimating software is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is strongly preferred.
