Job Description:

We are seeking a Category Management Advisor to join our dynamic Supply Management team in San Diego! This role is ideal for professionals with deep expertise in software procurement , AI , and cloud environments , who are passionate about driving strategic sourcing and contracting initiatives.

As a Category Management Advisor, you will:

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle for medium to high-risk categories, including developing and issuing RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs , and leading proposal evaluations and contract awards.
• Partner with stakeholders to align requirements and support category plans that improve efficiency, reduce costs, mitigate risk, and foster innovation .
• Negotiate complex contracts, evaluate suppliers, and collaborate with internal teams such as Legal, Finance, and Risk Management to minimize exposure.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships, resolve conflicts, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical standards.
• Analyze spend data and market trends to identify sourcing opportunities and mentor other procurement professionals.
• Occasionally participate in pilot programs or proof-of-concept initiatives to support emerging technologies and strategies.

This is a strategic role that requires strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills to deliver value across the organization.

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience:

• 4–5 years of experience in procurement/supply chain
• Strong experience negotiating software contracts
• Proven ability to run full lifecycle RFPs from cradle to grave
• Advanced redlining skills – comfortable redlining all Terms & Conditions

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience with Ariba
• Experience negotiating AI contracts

Pay:

$100,000 - $125,000
