EMI Services is hiring a Boiler Technician to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on one or more boilers to produce high-temperature water for use in an establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Observes and interprets readings on gauges, meters, and charts which register various aspects of boiler operation
  • Adjusts controls to ensure safe and efficient boiler operation and to meet demands for high-temperature water
  • Maintain a log in which various aspects of boiler operation are recorded
  • Clean, oil, make minor repairs or assist in repair to boiler equipment
  • Must be able to calibrate, operate, and interpret readings from a combustion analyzer to ensure efficient operation of boilers
  • Prepares work orders and cost materials estimates
  • Operate equipment used in the installation, repair, and maintenance on HVAC equipment
  • May assist in training lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniques
    • PRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment
      • Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED
  • 3+ years of experience in the maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems
    • Experience must include inspection, disassembly, assembly, replacement, and repair of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and/or air conditioning systems to include compressors, motors, burners, pumps, filters, ductwork, pipes, valves, refrigerants, and their recovery systems and pressure vessels.
  • Experience in installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and replacement of control systems
  • Boiler Certification
  • Duty Phone
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Regular, dependable attendance
  • U.S citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
  • Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
  • Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions
