Job Description

Accounting Assistant - temporary with possible conversion to Full Time Employee

Gig Harbor, WA - on-site, Monday - Friday

Well established, close-knit, friendly organization in Gig Harbor seeks hard working individual to join the team to help in the accounting department.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing accounting and administrative duties. You will support the business growth and accounting department by processing invoices, transactions, expenses as well as updating accounting database. This position will give you the opportunity to grow your accounting knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate and enter weekly fixed payroll rates for Time and Material (T&M) projects
  • Print, sort, and file weekly time cards for T&M billing documentation
  • Print approved accounts payable invoices and enter into accounts payable
  • Complete weekly accounts payable check run and match to invoice backup for signature approval
  • Assist with monthly T&M billings, including, Export and format detailed billing spreadsheets, Print and compile all backup data; scan and save to the network, Prepare lien waivers
  • Reconcile monthly individual credit card billings with backup receipts
  • File all associated accounts payable and subcontract documentation

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required
  • Detail oriented, self-starter who wants to seek growth, knowledge, and challenges!
  • 1-3 years' of experience working in Accounting is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
