About Us
Why Choose Royel Tea?
We are the leading producer, grower and exporter of high quality tea from the Waghi Valley. In the mid-1960s, we founded four tea plantations, each with its own factory.
Our tea leaves are grown organically, and certified organic by various boards and associations internationally. This is a reflection of our commitment toward ethical and conscientious practices. Our tea is also certified halal by JAKIM.
The secret of our superior quality tea lies in the combination of rich volcanic soil and ideal climate conditions of the Waghi Valley. This optimum environment produces high yields and high quality teas.
Our tea is produced using the Cut, Tear and Curl (CTC) process, a ‘Natural’ type of manufacturing. The supple leaves and buds are harvested by hand or machine, and left to wither naturally to produce a premium, natural tasting and aromatic tea.

Tea plantations
These properties were developed from phragmites swamp country in the mid 1960’s. At that time, almost all the equipments used, was air freighted into the valley, as these were the days before the road system in the highlands was fully developed. The rich soil and ideal climate conditions of the Waghi Valley contribute to the success of these tea plantations.
